Create an organization#
Organizations provide shared namespaces for team-owned projects. Create one when a project should be published under an organization name instead of your personal username.
Organization creation starts as a request. After the request is approved, the organization namespace is created and you become an owner of the organization.
Before you start#
You need a Sysand Index account and an organization name that is not already used by another user or organization.
Organization names:
are 3-50 characters long
use lowercase letters, numbers, and single hyphens
cannot start or end with a hyphen
share the same global namespace as usernames
For more context on how names become project identifiers, see
Project name and publisher fields.
Submit the organization request#
Go to Organizations.
Under Request new organization, enter the organization name.
Enter a display name.
Optionally add a website and description.
Press Submit request.
If the request is accepted, the organization appears on your Organizations page.
On https://test.sysand.com, the organization request will automatically be approved, while on https://sysand.com, the request stays pending until staff review it.
Check a pending request#
Go to Organizations to see your organizations and pending organization requests.
If you submitted the wrong name or no longer need the organization, withdraw the pending request and submit a new one.
Set up the organization after approval#
After the organization exists, open it from Organizations to finish setup:
Update the organization profile if the display name, website, or description needs changes.
Invite other users from the organization members page.
Publish or transfer projects into the organization namespace.
